We can laugh now...

Ok so Gavin and I saw this carport thing at Costco and thought it would be a good thing to have to cover out car from the snow since we had our back window shatter and cave in under the snow last winter. So, we have Gavin's brother-in-law help us by picking it up and helping us set it up on the coldest night in October. Then the next day Me Gavin and Kali finished putting it up. I'd say 8-10 hours in all!!! I noticed there were no stakes or anything to keep it from blowing away and kept telling gavin we'd better get some sandbags or something, he wasn't too worried and said lets go out to Specer and Ralina's for dinner and we'll worry about it later. So, we leave and are gone for about 4 hours and there just happens to be a cold front blowing in and it's snowing when we get home at about 10pm. We come home to find that it had blown off of gavin's car and is now resing on our neighbors house and fence (good thing our neighbor was about 98 and passed away a few months ago otherwise she may have had a heart attack!!) It wasn't even that windy!! So then Gavin and I try to push it back over but it was SO HEAVY!!! I went to all of our neighbors and nobody was home so I went back and mustered up some super pregnant lady strength and we managed to push it back over and take it apart.... There was a huge hole in it from the fence. We loaded up all the junk into Gavin's trunk and returned it to costco the next morning... They didn't even ask any questions it was just a bunch of poles and tarps in 2 carts haha
Then the other week i was at Costco and saw an elderly couple walking out with one... i couldn't catch up to tell them TAKE IT BACK NOW!!!
It's pretty funny now but wasn't at the time.... here are a few pics of us putting it up... I didn't think to take any that night as we were trying to take it down in the strom...

6.5 Months along!!

I'm almost 27 weeks along and feeling quite HUGE!! I feel great for the most part, even forget i'm pregnant until I try and put on my socks haha...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGHAN

Meghan and I met at the LDS Business College, she is petty much the best thing I got from that school. We became great friends and even roommates for about a year. Meghan you're such a great person and I'm SO glad you were born :) Kalista LOVES you, she says this on a daily basis, and can't wait to play with you and "Party" again. Love You Girl and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

IT'S A BOY!!!

Well, we got our ultrasound today and confirmed what Gavin and I suspected all along... we're having a baby boy! We're so excited... I posted a few pics... he may not be too happy i posted pictures of his private parts but oh well...

Visitors :)

About two weeks or so ago my friend Rachael and her son Gunner came to visit from Idaho. They came over in the evening and played for about 2 hours. It was GREAT to see them, we were friends and roommates in college. Kalista loved playing with Gunner!! My dad and brother stopped by for a visit that same night, Kalista loves to see Grandpa and is always saying Adam whenever she sees a boy that is about 17 or 18, well a good looking boy i should say haha.... Here are a few shots from that night :)

SWIMMING!!

Kalista LOVES to go swimming at the Family Fitness Center close to our house. They have this Duck Slide she would go down a hundred times if we'd let her. The last time we were there a lady had some little blow up swimming wings her daughter hated so she asked if we wanted them. Kalista LOVES them. It's so cute seeing her "swimming" with them on. We took her and Olivia there about a week ago and they had a BLAST!! If anyone wants to go with us let us know :)

Potty Training!

I started potty training Kalista about a week or so ago and she is doing WONDERFUL!! I'm so proud of her :) She's had a few accidents here and there but for the most part she's been great. I think the reason she is catching on so quick is because i introduced her to the big potty at 4 months old.. I know it sounds crazy but she started going pee on the potty every time I put her over it since she was 4 month so she already knew that's what the potty was all about. It's been GREAT.. Olivia, the girl I nanny, on the other hand has been potty training for over 7 months and still to this day will not go when i ask if she needs to and won't tell me when she needs to and pees in her pants on a daily basis... ANY TIPS WOULD BE GREAT!! I know if it were up to me I'd put her back in diapers and just wait till SHE is ready but I'm not her mom..... Advise anyone? OH and i should mention with Olivia I have tried EVERYTHING!! Potty treats, potty chart, setting the potty timer... nothing has worked and I'm all out of ideas..

A Hike/Picnic

Well, we wanted to go on a hike the other weekend but once we got up the Canyon it started to sprinkle a bit so we decided to stay close to the car. We went into this little "nook" that has a waterfall and let Kali throw rocks into the water, which she LOVED, and ate our lunch. It was so nice to get away from the city and enjoy nature. Here are a few Pics from that trip.

Number 1!!

Ever since Gavin and I started dating I would go to his weekly hockey game. I have only missed 2 games, one when I was in the hospital having Kalista and then the week after. Kalista looks forward to it every week, whenever we walk by his equipment in the garage she points to it and says daddy hockey stuff!! Then she cheers for him and says Go Go Go!
I just want to say I'm very proud of Gavin, checking his stats, not including last nights game, and he's tied for number one in the league.

Metcalf Family Reunion

We went up to Malad ID this past summer and stayed in a cabin up there for Gavin's family reunion. His grandpa Metcalf and aunt Tanya and her kids were all there. It was a lot of fun to be able to meet his grandpa and for Kalista to meet him as well. Here are some photo's of the family. I'm not great at editing just yet but i'm working on it.. the lighting wasn't the best under shade of a tree and there are a bunch of sunspots i'm still learning how to edit those... Gavin's sister Ralina was in labor so we all gathered around her and took some quick shots before they left to go back to SLC to have their baby girl...

Thank You Good Samaritans

My grandpa Smith had a heart attack on Wednesday this past week. He is doing well, from what I've been told. I'm so thankful to the people that helped revive him and give him more time on this earth to spend with our family. Kalista spent some time with him this summer at yellow stone and it would make me so sad to think she wouldn't be able to see him again. I love you grandpa!!

Photography Models

I'm going to start building my photography portfolio and will need to take some pictures in order to do this. So if you want some pictures taken I'll do it for free and give you a few edited ones in exchange for your time.... I need families, teens, newborns, maternity, bridals pretty much everything so if you're willing to spend an hour or so with me in the evening I'd love to take some pictures of you. I will be in Spring Creek in October the week of the 13th and can take pictures while out there so just let me know.

These are just some recent pics of us. Not much to update. I'm starting to feel back to normal these days and starting to get a bit of a belly. Kali is being so cute and frustrating all at the same time but I love her to death.

Grandpa "Push"

We had the Metcalf Reunion in Idaho at a little cabin just south west of Lava Hot Springs. At the cabin there was a swing set that had a tire swing. Kalista could have lived in this swing she loved it SO MUCH. Gavin's dad and mom spent well over an hour pushing her and now whenever she talks about Grandpa or Grandma she says Push Push... It's cute so now they are known ans Grandpa and Grandma Push ha.

Time Out

Olivia, the little girl I nanny, has had them for a while now since she's a bit older than kali and kali always runs over and wants a timeout too haha It's so funny. UPDATE!!

Well out laptop decided to go crazy on us and we had to buy a new computer we got an iMac and LOVE IT!! I haven't yet uploaded all my pics yet but will soon and will post some recent pictures. We're had a crazy summer full of reunions and trips. Our biggest news is that we are expecting an addition to out family in March! We're due exactly one week before my brother's wife Trinity!! How exciting :) Well, that's about it for right now I'll post some pics and things once we get our computer set up... Love You ALL!!!
