Lesson Learned.... the POOPY way!

So, I have been introducing Z to the potty since he was about six months. He has gone pee a few times and gone poop once. Last night I finally got my awesome cloth diapers in the mail and was SO excited that I tried one on Z the second I opened them (though I was planning on washing them I just wanted to see how they fit) and Z HATED them... he was just grabbing his diaper and crying. So, I took it off and washed them and line dried them over night. This morning I was super excited to put him in it but wanted to wait for him to poop since I don't yet have my diaper pail or the spray and soap I need. I hear him grunting and ask him if he wanted to go poop on the potty.. so I put him on and he just sat there for about fifteen min. So, I took him off and told him to come choose a Diaper. H looked at the diapers and said NO and ran into the kitchen. All of a sudden i hear that sound that NO mother wants to hear when her child has NO DIAPER ON. You know the sound... that grunting that means only one thing!! I screamed NOOOOOOO and ran in to find that he had NOT pooped yet and picked him up and ran through the house to the bathroom. I plop him on the potty and wait for the poop that never came. Then I walk out into the livingroom to find poop in a trail from my kitchen to the bathroom. I found 5 piles and one that must have gotten some air cuz it was smashed up against the wall right by my kitchen door. Lesson learned.... if you hear your diaperless child pooping in a room with hard floor, just let them poop and clean it up. Do NOT run through the house because you will have one heck of a mess to clean up......
Ahhhhhh the joys of being a mommy :)
I put him in the shower and put a cloth diaper on him and he doesn't seam to mind it :) Though he walks like a cowboy that has been on a horse all day ;)

I sure do love my kids.....

Some days are VERY hard being a stay at home mommy. I think those that have/choose to work wish they could stay home and "relax". Little do they know that the minuet you wake up there is NO relaxing involved. I guess they DO know this but I think sometimes they think it would be easy to stay at home all day long.
I love my kids So much and really am thankful to be able to stay home and watch them grow up and teach them new things. I especially love it when they come up to me and give me a hug and a kiss out of the blue... some days I really do wonder how they feel about me haha

I have GREAT kids and couldn't have asked for a better family. We are so excited for number three to come join us.

Just a random thought....

Family Pictures... Kinda

Our attempt at family pictures did not go well... but here they are!! Overexposed and all :)

Hike to "The Living Room"

Ok, I'm sure NOBODY reads this blog since I have not updated it in the past year, but I thought I just might start now.
Last Saturday we decided we should take advantage of the amazing weather and go for a little family hike. Gavin and Kalista had gone on this hike about a month earlier and Kali kept talking about how she wanted me and Zach to go up and sit in the "seats" with her and Daddy. So, we left out house around 11:15 and went to the store to get some snacks for our hike.
I wore the pack with the treats and the camel pack full of water, gavin wore Zachary and Kali wore her hiking shoes!! I must admit that Kalista is a VERY good hiker. It was such a fun day! Yes, there were times I wanted to scream in horror as my beautiful little girl would come inches from the edge of a cliff, but overall it was a great time.
On Thursday, a few days prior to our Hike, Gavin had worn his new skates during hockey and they are a big too tight. He had these HUGE blisters that had popped and were VERY painful, so he had to wear sandals on the hike.... He is an amazing man! By the end of the hike, he was carrying both kids with one asleep in his back and the other hugging him from the front and his legs were shaking so bad he could barely stand!! He is amazing... I have no idea what we will do when we have a third :) But what a good time. I want to take some of our friends and family on this hike.. it's pretty much in our back yard here. LOVED IT!

OK I THINK I can do this

I have decided that I'm going to lay off the Facebook addiction and start blogging. I can't spell worth a darn and I may be boring but at least I'm writing down my feelings right? I will say in advance that what I write are just opinions and nobody should EVER be offended by anything they read on my blog.
K we will see if I can post something tomorrow... as of now, I'm off to bed at 9:30pm... I'm hoping to become an early to bed, early to rise kind of person!!

OK it is TIME

I have not updated my blog in almost a year!! I will start that NOW.
2009 was an amazing year that brought a lot of change for us. We were blessed with Zachary, Gavin started his Masters Program and we moved into Student Housing. I will post pics from the year and maybe just go from there. Sorry it's been a year :)
